I dreamt of longing:  it filled my thoughts, surrounded me like fog, air heavy with particles of absence, of desire groping in the dark.  I dreamt I went on a walk, to soothe my gray emotions; to lift myself up, to not succumb to the sense that what is not, is present; that what one wants is both close and too far away; that feeds into a feeling that the temperature is not quite right, that the scenery does not satisfy, that the things that one has to do today are not the ones that tickle our fancy, or spark our love of life.  But it’s better to do something, than to do nothing.  It’s better to be with someone, than to be alone.  It’s better to feel longing, than to feel nothing.  In my dream, while I lay asleep, I chose to keep on moving.  I carried stillness with me, so that when the Sun would rise and wake me, she would find me living; she would find me ready for another day that’s bathed in light, followed by another night of longing.

Sad day sounds like. But so nice you can find a center of stillness amidst all the changing emotions and thought
