What is in my heart today, I ask myself,
Then dive into inquiry.
Longing for love is present with receiving it;
Asking for what I want sometimes clashes with getting it,
Then losing it.
If I want something that can be lost, am I just not understanding it?
Questions in my heart feel like spilling up my throat, down into my belly.
Fullness in my heart, and tenderness tells me:
To let sadness fill the aorta and spread from there,
Enter my veins and warm my body,
And silkenly swim through my everything;
To let sadness in and find my love for it,
My love for me,
As I sit here, feeling.
